Stained glass panel with hares.

£285.00

Sold

A small stained glass panel with boxing hares. There are three types of hare in the UK: the brown hare, the mountain hare and the Irish hare. The brown hare is the most common and you’re most likely to see these on arable farmland and large, flat expanses of grassland. Hares are usually solitary creatures but come March/April time you can see females fighting off the mating urges of the males, standing on their hind legs and literally ‘boxing’ with their front paws.

This panel would suit being set into a wooden door inside or out, alternatively I can attach a black chain for you to hang in a window space. This panel has a hand painted central illustration of boxing hares in a woodland clearing within a two tone purple swirling design surround. Pale shades of green and yellow original Victorian glass in the background. The corners feature painted flowers and the outer border has a mix of blue shades.
