Hello my name is Steven Samuels. I am a stained glass artist living in West Wales. I work from my studio here producing stained glass panels for sale as well as specific commissioned pieces for a wide range of customers.

I have a background in illustration as well as a keen interest working with a variety of other mediums like wood and more recently ceramics. Often when an initial concept needs developing ideas demand a more flexible approach using differing mediums which in itself produces new challenges as well as opportunities to adapt and develop my work.

Working within the restraints of any one medium is often a challenge. The aim is to transform the assimilation of ideas, feelings and notions (that by their nature sometimes feel amorphous and unattainable) into something tangible that honestly presents the ideal. Art is the bridge that conquers the divide and helps us find some identity with ourselves and the world.

As an artist I hope to continue to progress my skills and relationship with the materials I use which in turn I hope will enable me to achieve something closer to my personal vision.
